How does the PUMP buyback work?

Mechanism: buy-and-burn · 50% of revenue. Two eras. From 2025-07-15 to 2026-04-28 pump.fun spent roughly all of its revenue buying PUMP and HOLDING it (confirmed retroactively by the CEO); on 2026-04-28 it burned the whole accumulated position at once — ~128.06B PUMP (~$371M at purchase cost, ~36% of then-circulating supply), tagged as a one-off burn event, never as a daily spike (those tokens were bought over the prior nine months). Since 2026-04-29 a programmatic buy-and-burn runs on 50% of net revenue (bonding curve + PumpSwap + Terminal across four chains, net of referrals and cashbacks), committed for one year — sunset ~2027-04-28. Daily series is pump.fun's OWN published data (pump.fun/pump-token); burns verified at the mint on Solana: burnChecked 1:1 with each buy, totalSupply decreasing live, and our supply watcher reconciles the mint against the recorded series hourly (drift alarm at 0.5%). Caveat: 'programmatically locked' is pump.fun's phrase — on-chain the burns are signed by ordinary hot wallets, nothing immutable guarantees the twelve months.
