How much are Polymarket fees?

Polymarket charges a taker fee only, on orders that fill against the book: shares × rate × price × (1 − price). The rate depends on the market category: 7% in crypto, 5% in sports, 4% in politics, finance, tech and mentions, 5% in economics, culture, weather and other markets, and 0% in geopolitics. For 100 shares at 50¢ that is $1.75 in crypto, $1.25 in sports, $1.00 in politics and $0 in geopolitics. Makers, whose resting orders get filled, pay nothing and share 15% to 25% of the taker fees of each market as rebates. Takers earn 3% to 50% of their own fees back by tier, from their last 30 days of weighted volume. There is no Polymarket fee to deposit or withdraw USDC.

The fee is shares × rate × price × (1 − price), rounded to five decimals, so it is largest at 50¢ and shrinks towards the extremes: 100 crypto shares cost $1.75 in fees at 50¢ and $0.63 at 10¢ or 90¢. Source: Polymarket's fee documentation.

Do makers pay fees on Polymarket?

The fee depends on which side of the trade you are on. A taker is the order that fills against resting liquidity, and pays the fee at the fill. A maker is the resting order that gets filled: it pays nothing, and every day Polymarket splits a share of each market's taker fees among its makers, 20% in crypto, 15% in sports and 25% in the other categories, pro rata to each maker's fee-equivalent in that market, paid in pUSD with a $1 minimum. Geopolitics markets are fee-free, so they carry no maker rebate.

Polymarket: shares × 0.04 × p × (1 − p), rounded to 5 decimals; the rebate is paid back daily in pUSD. This trade adds $32.50 of Weighted Volume ($50.00 × (1 − p) × 1.3) towards your next tier. Kalshi: 0.07 × contracts × p × (1 − p) on its general schedule, rounded up to the cent. Both peak at 50¢ and fall towards 1¢ and 99¢.

How do Polymarket taker rebates work?

Since 28 May 2026, takers get part of their fees back through seven tiers of the Taker Rebate Program: Bronze from $2,000 of 30-day weighted volume returns 3%, Silver from $20,000 of 30-day weighted volume returns 8%, Gold from $200,000 of 30-day weighted volume returns 18%, Platinum from $1,000,000 of 30-day weighted volume returns 32%, Diamond from $4,000,000 of 30-day weighted volume returns 44%, Obsidian from $10,000,000 of 30-day weighted volume returns 50%, each with a one-off level-up bonus of $10 to $25,000. Weighted volume counts taker trades only: trade size × (1 − entry price) × a category weight of 2.3 in crypto, 1.7 in economics, culture, weather and other, 1.3 in politics, finance, tech and mentions, 1.0 in sports and 0 in geopolitics. The tier is recalculated daily at midnight UTC on the last 30 days, downgrades apply after a short grace period, rebates are paid daily in pUSD with a $1 minimum and only on trades made after the tier was reached, and omnibus wallets of third-party integrations are not part of the programme.

Does Polymarket charge fees on winnings?

No. Polymarket does not take a cut of winnings: a winning share redeems for $1.00 at resolution with no fee. The fee is charged when a taker order fills, so a trader who buys at 50¢ and holds to resolution pays once, on the way in; one who sells before resolution pays the taker fee again on the way out, if that sell order takes liquidity.

Polymarket fees vs Kalshi
